Dr Pippa Leslie is a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education and is Programme Leader for the MA Education at the University of Cumbria. She also currently leads a postgraduate ITE programme in Manchester that prepares pre-service teachers to teach in primary and special education settings.
In 2021 Pippa was awarded a PhD from Lancaster University. Her current research includes rethinking limiting beliefs about ‘ability’, ITE tutor study groups and collaborative methodologies. She has recently started leading an academic reading group and residential writing retreats at the University of Cumbria’s campus in the Lake District.
Originally from Tyneside, her teaching career began in London and she now works in partnership with schools in rural Cumbria, South/Central Manchester and Stockport to design and develop innovative and experiential teacher education experiences. Before working as a Teacher Educator, she was a leader and advisor/consultant locally, nationally, in the Chanel Islands and in Scandinavia.
Pippa is a member of the British Academy, the Australian Teacher Education Association (ATEA) and the International Teacher Educator Research Collaborative (ITERC). She has been Conference Chair for the Teacher Education Advancement Network since 2020 and has recently become Co-Convener of the ½¿É«µ¼º½ TEAN Conference. Pippa is excited to be welcoming colleagues to this year’s conference.
