Ethics and Practitioner Research

While 娇色导航 guidelines for ethical research do exist, it is acknowledged that the application of the guidelines is not always simple and straightforward. This event was an opportunity to discuss how the spirit and underlying principles of their recommendations can be applied to your own research in an educational setting.
This was also an opportunity to review your own research as part of a deliberative, ongoing and iterative process and to find the right approach for you. We heard from established researchers and everyone present had the opportunity to ask questions or share their ideas with the panel.
Professor Sarah Parsons helped us to understand the best approach to research with SEND students and Dr Elizabeth Hidson shared her interesting experiences of international initial teacher training and the ethical dilemmas that can arise in that context. Dr Lisa-Maria Muller, Head of Research at The Chartered College of Teaching shared her experiences of setting up an ethics panel.
