Writing for publication is widely understood as a central activity for researchers, and, since their institutions have the same ambition, perhaps the one by which researchers are ultimately judged. And all too often it also causes the most significant difficulties, anxieties and disappointments. For many researchers, this difficulty is seen as a problem of getting their work onto paper and finding the best mode of expressing their ideas. Advice addresses such questions as how to structure your paper or follow style conventions.ÌýÌý
This workshop starts from the assumption that these are not simply difficulties of writing up their work but of understanding who they are writing it for and why. What audiences are you trying to reach and how do editors and other gatekeepers respond to your work? How can your work help them achieve the aims of their publication and shape the field they aim to influence?ÌýÌý
In this session you will be able to discuss your own experiences and aspirations with colleagues who have significant experience within our field, as editors, reviewers and writers.ÌýÌý
