½¿É«µ¼º½ Announces 2025 ½¿É«µ¼º½ Educational Research Book of the Year

The ½¿É«µ¼º½ Educational Research Book of the Year award celebrates the publication of educational research and is awarded to a scholarly book on education deemed to be high quality, engaging and innovative.

After reviewing the three books in the outstanding shortlist, the ½¿É«µ¼º½ judging panel is delighted to announce that the winner of the 2025 ½¿É«µ¼º½ Educational Research Book of the Year Award is

Race and Assessment in Higher Education: From Conceptualising Barriers to Making Measurable Change

The judges say:

“I haven’t stopped thinking about this book since I finished reading it. It’s provided many areas for reflection that can be used to inform future practices in higher education teaching and assessment.”

“This book offers a nuanced appreciation of how to move forward to greater inclusivity within higher education”

“The book adds to a body of work which empirically illustrates how racial inequities persist in Britain and in White Western national states”

 

Congratulations to Dr Campbell.

Dr Campbell is Associate Professor in the Sociology of race and inclusion and is the inaugural Director of the University of Leicester Institute for Inclusivity in Higher Education. 

The award will be presented at the Critical Conversations in Education – ½¿É«µ¼º½ AGM, Awards and Keynote lecture on 25th November 2025 in London.
