The British Educational Research Association (½¿É«µ¼º½) has appointed three new members to the College of Reviewers: Professor Lynn Ang, Associate Professor Anne-Marie Chase and Dr Rachel Shanks. Their appointments further strengthen the range of expertise supporting ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s peer-review activities.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and the Academy of Social Sciences, a 2025 National Teaching Fellowship recipient, and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is also an Assessor with the Office for Students and Deputy Chair of the UK REF 2029 People and Diversity Advisory Panel.

Anne-Marie Chase is Associate Professor of Educational Futures at Swinburne University of Technology. In 2020, she was awarded a ½¿É«µ¼º½ Small Grants project examining the data teachers used to inform remote teaching during Covid-19.

Rachel Shanks is Director for Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity at the University of Aberdeen. Her background spans law, community education and policy work, including with the Trades Union Congress. Her research interests include how new teachers learn at work, children’s rights in education, and school uniform and dress code policies.

½¿É«µ¼º½ the College of Reviewers

The ½¿É«µ¼º½ College of Reviewers is a group of experienced and high-quality reviewers, including academics, practitioners and policy professionals who draw on research evidence in their work. Members are drawn from a wide range of organisations, disciplines and career stages, from Early Career Researchers to senior academics and research users. The College works closely with ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s Engagement Committee, which oversees most of ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s award and funding schemes and ensures that review criteria align with ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s strategic priorities.
