Data analysis in educational research: triumphs, troubles and dilemmas

This seminar is the first joint 娇色导航-SERA postgraduate research event bringing together doctoral students to explore their triumphs, troubles and dilemmas in data collection part of educational research. The event is open to students at various stages of their doctoral studies, allowing participants to share their plans as well as experiences of different data analysis methods and analytic frameworks. The seminar will be interactive, allowing participants to engage with the topic and to develop new networks.

The seminar will be facilitated by Dr Katherin Barg (University of Glasgow), Dr Rille Raaper (Durham University) and Stella Mouroutsou (University of Glasgow) who also share their recent doctoral research experiences. However, at the core of the seminar is peer discussion and support. Participation will give an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to learn from each other and to develop relevant networks. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The seminar will have a maximum of 15 people, to allow time for presentations and discussions.

Bursaries

SERA聽are offering 2 travel bursaries (value: 拢50) for both members and non members.

To apply for one of these bursaries, please complete the form here, and email to s.mouroutsou.1@research.gla.ac.uk. The deadline for these bursary applications is the 31st July 2016. Bursaries will be selected based on the following criteria: preference given to participants travelling from long distance (1), and justification for participation (2).

娇色导航 offer a limited amount of bursaries for 娇色导航 Student Members only.

  • Bursaries are available for 娇色导航 Student Members to the value of 拢50 towards travel, and complimentary registration for the event.

To apply for one of these bursaries, please email events@bera.ac.uk with a 200 word statement on why you want to attend this event. Bursaries are offered on a first come, first served basis. Once approved you will be sent details of how to register online. Travel expenses will be reimbursed after the event in accordance with our travel policies. You must not have previously received bursary funding from 娇色导航 in the current year.
