Are you passionate about connecting research and practice in education? Do you want to help shape a supportive, dynamic community for teachers across the UK? We’re looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join the ½¿É«µ¼º½ Teacher Network Leadership Team as Network Leads.
The ½¿É«µ¼º½ Teacher Network is an inclusive community of educators from early years, primary, secondary, further, adult, and vocational education settings. Our mission is to support teachers in accessing, engaging with, and applying research to enhance teaching and learning. The network provides opportunities to develop research leadership skills, build professional connections, and foster a culture of evidence-informed practice across all career stages.
What does the Network Lead Role Involve?
The Leadership Team oversees the activities of the ½¿É«µ¼º½ Teacher Network, working closely with the ½¿É«µ¼º½ office to deliver events, communications, and initiatives that benefit the teaching community.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Communications
Research Intelligence Feature
Two issues of Research Intelligence each year include a dedicated two-page Teacher Network feature (approx. 1,000 words). Network Leads take turns commissioning, writing, or editing these articles, with support from ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s Publications Manager.
Teacher Network Newsletter
A termly newsletter shares updates, opportunities, and resources with Teacher Network members. While compiled by the ½¿É«µ¼º½ office, Network Leads are encouraged to contribute content.
Events and Activities
The Teacher Network delivers a varied annual programme of events and activities to support professional learning and collaboration:
Teacher Network Conference
The new annual conference for teachers, designed to showcase practice-informed research and celebrate innovation in education. Network Leads help plan, promote, and deliver the event.
Coffee Hour Sessions
Informal, virtual networking sessions held twice a year to connect educators across the UK. Network Leads take turns chairing these sessions.
½¿É«µ¼º½ Annual Conference Presence
The Teacher Network contributes to ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s Annual Conference through networking sessions. Network Leads receive complimentary registration in return for supporting these activities.
Governance and Representation
Leadership Team Meetings
Network Leads attend twice-yearly planning meetings with the ½¿É«µ¼º½ office to coordinate activities and shape the strategic direction of the Teacher Network.
Additional Representation Opportunities
Network Leads may be invited to represent the Teacher Network at relevant conferences or contribute to other ½¿É«µ¼º½ committees and initiatives.
Who Can Apply?
You must be a current ½¿É«µ¼º½ Member (or prepared to join) working within early years, primary, secondary, further, adult, or vocational education in the UK.
