Recognised as a strategic leader and serving as Deputy Head of the School of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University, I ensure that teaching, research, and professional practice align with the core values of inclusion and equity across numerous undergraduate and postgraduate education-based programmes. With 30 years of experience in education, I have strategically led both undergraduate and postgraduate primary education programmes, as well as several primary schools in the UK and internationally. I am a member of several academic and professional organisations that contribute to the formulation of policy and the sharing of good practice around curriculum development and delivery, keeping me informed with the continual changes in PSRB requirements in ITE and wider education priorities. My research focuses on the cultural understanding of the person and the processes of lived identities, with a particular interest in the experience of professionals from underrepresented groups.
