Dee Higgins, Ms

Deputy Head at Ealing Council

Dee is Therapeutic Thinking Lead and Outreach Manager at Ealing Council, a role she has held since June 2025. With over two decades of experience across mainstream education and alternative provision, she is committed to improving outcomes for all children—including those with SEND, those excluded, and those at risk of exclusion—through systemic change and therapeutic approaches.

Her career spans strategic leadership, safeguarding, and pastoral care, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and equity. Dee has led transformational projects, developed multi-professional teams, and worked extensively to embed therapeutic thinking into practice. She has served on the Leadership Council of the National Education Union, is a Project Coordinator for the Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce, and holds trustee roles in local charities and cultural education initiatives.

Academically, Dee holds an MA in Emotional Factors in Teaching and Learning: Counselling Aspects of Education, alongside postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management, and is currently pursuing an MA in Education Leadership. Her professional development includes advanced safeguarding, safer recruitment, and therapeutic thinking training.

A reflective practitioner and systems leader, Dee champions innovative strategies that prioritise well-being, inclusion, and positive life chances for all learners.
