Gihan Ismail, Mrs
PhD researcher at University of Bath
Gihan Ismail is a doctoral researcher at the department of education, University of Bath, and her research explores the interplay of knowledge, power and ethics in doctoral education with a focus on the sociology of difference, culture and identity. Her theoretical framework contributes to the scholarship of critical pedagogy and epistemic justice by employing them in the context of internationalising doctoral education.
Being a school teacher for 15 years, Gihan has moved to the higher education setting since 2008 and has experience in teaching and leading modules for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a number of HE institutions in the UK.
Alongside her role as 娇色导航 ECR convenor, Gihan has been involved in a wide range of research projects, co-authored a number of publications, assisted journal book reviews and been on conference review and award panels over the past 8 years.
