Louise Yorke, Dr

Senior Research Fellow in Education Policy at University College London

Dr Louise Yorke is a Senior Research Fellow at UCL Institute of Education on the ESRC Education Research Programme, leading research examining how political contexts shape evidence use in education policy across the UK.

Louise has 15 years' experience in cross-national education policy research focused on inequality in the UK, Ireland and internationally, informing OECD, World Bank, and FCDO policy. She holds a UCL Grand Challenges grant using computational analysis to explore how inequalities are constructed in policy discourse across the UK and Ireland, with stakeholder engagement on AI in education policy.

She has also applied computational analysis to teacher recruitment discourse in the ESRC newsletter (2023-2026), revealing which organisations dominate debates and how framings shifted pre/post-2024 election.
Her research focuses on how inequality is constructed and measured in education policy, using NLP to identify whose perspectives shape debates across contexts.
