Rose Dolan, Associate Professor

Dr Rose Dolan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Maynooth University, Ireland. A former second level science, mathematics and biology teacher, she has worked in teacher education since 2003 and completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2011.
Her research examines how policy influences educational systems and shapes teacher education across the professional continuum. Her work includes a strong focus on the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, mid career transitions, and the experiences of practitioners across sectors. She is currently investigating how formal Professional Learning—particularly practitioner-led professional doctorates—affects professional discourse and workplace practice.
Rose lectures on teacher education practice and policy and is Programme Leader for Maynooth University’s Doctor of Education.
