Roseanne Chantiluke is a trilingual Jamaican-British educator, researcher, executive leader, and consultant. She specialised in postcolonial Caribbean and West African literature written in French and Spanish at the University of Oxford while being an organising member of the Rhodes Must Fall in Oxford movement (2015-6). Since then, she has worked with a range of schools, universities and organisations globally – especially in the US – exploring questions around identity, community and belonging and how they are nurtured in educational spaces through instructional practices and dialogue.
In 2020, Rose joined the research team for the Penguin Books/Runnymede Trust-Commissioned Lit in Colour project, exploring ‘diversity’ in English literature learning and teaching in England. Her PhD at the University of Bristol explores how literature teachers in the UK and US navigate identity-focused teaching in theory and practice in a post-2020 political context.
