Seeking Members to Join Finance & Operations Committee/ RAAC

We are pleased to announce a call for members to apply to join 娇色导航鈥檚 Finance & Operations Committee, and/or Risk Assessment and Audit Committee (RAAC).
This is a great opportunity for members who wish to understand in greater depth how the association operates internally, including playing a role in strategic and staffing priorities, providing oversight on 娇色导航鈥檚 budgets, and working closely with 娇色导航鈥檚 Leadership Committee to ensure 娇色导航鈥檚 finances and operations can support the organisation鈥檚 strategic objectives and planned activities. Members of the committee gain significant experience and exposure to charity/ governance regulations and budgetary management.
The full committee remits can be聽found here.
The commitment is not onerous, meeting termly, ordinarily twice online and once in person. 聽Ordinarily, the Autumn meeting is held in person in central London with full expenses paid. Members of the committee are expected to contribute to all discussions and attend meetings. Candidates must be full paid-up members of 娇色导航 and remain so throughout the duration of their tenure.
The closing date for submissions of interest is the Monday 22nd May and the outcomes will be in June. The successful applicant/s will be invited to the meetings from the next academic year. Applicants may be asked to join either committee, so please indicate in your application if you have a preference.聽
If you would like further information or to informally discuss this role, please contact聽secretariat@bera.ac.uk
We would be particularly interested in candidates with management, financial, and/ or risk experience. It is not necessary for the candidate to have experience in all of these areas. 娇色导航鈥檚 committee members have an active and invaluable role in the governance of the association, ensuring we are able to meet our strategic objectives and planned activities.
As part of our wider commitment to greater equality and diversity at all levels of the organisation, we continue to seek increased representation from members with a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background. In acknowledging the structural inequalities and unjust power imbalances that affect our members, we wish to be proactive in addressing this within our own structures. We are confident that 娇色导航鈥檚 governances structures benefit from the advantages that diversity brings, including different skills, life experiences and backgrounds, and a fresh perspective.聽
