Dr Anjali Shah is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Chester and a former secondary Science teacher. Her research centres on the development of professional identity among new teachers, with a strong emphasis on anti-racist education, decolonised curricula, and equity in teacher development. Anjali’s work explores how identity, culture, and representation shape educational experiences and outcomes, particularly for minoritised educators and learners. She is an active contributor to institutional race equality strategies and a speaker with the BAMEed Network, advocating for inclusive practices across schools and teacher education. Her work bridges research, practice, and policy for systemic change.
