Dr Bonita S. Cabiles is a lecturer in the School of Education, College of Design and Social Context, RMIT University at Melbourne, Australia. She teaches in the initial teacher education programme on topics such as multicultural education, Indigenous education and sustainability. Bonita’s research area is in the sociology of education focusing on cultural and linguistic diversity, and migration and mobility. Her current work examines schooling, as a social practice, to illuminate issues of disadvantage while investigating the conditions of possibilities for socially just educational outcomes. Bonita graduated with a PhD in Education from the University of Melbourne and holds a master’s degree in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management, jointly awarded by the Institute of Education (University College London) and Deusto University.
