Chloe Newman

Teacher researcher at University of the West of England

Chloe Newman is a teacher researcher who has been using a child-centred approach across mainstream and special schools over the past 10 years.
She completed her master’s in Education in 2025 focusing on visual methodologies to advocate for authentic pupil voice of autistic students. She continues to work closely with the University of the West of England’s Malcolm Richards (the Equity in Education co-lead) and Bath Spa’s Professor Harriet Shortt (a visual methods expert) where they are publishing further research around the impact that evidence based ‘photovoice’ methodology can have across mainstream and special educational settings for children with limited verbal communication aged 4 to 16.
Chloe has a drive to connect and work collaboratively with pupils, researchers, educators and additional stakeholders to share best practice for children with autism to make a real-world social impact within education.
