Dr Clare McAuley is a lecturer in the School of Education at Ulster University and is a co-investigator for the Future Schools Project. Her research interests include the role of education in promoting social cohesion; teaching History in contested societies; Citizenship education; teaching controversial and sensitive issues; and curriculum policy and practice. Clare is a former teacher of History and Citizenship education and History and Citizenship Officer at the Northern Ireland Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
