Elizabeth Cahill

Professional Doctorate in Education at St Mary’s University

Elizabeth Cahill has spent 32 years working in primary education and is currently a serving headteacher. Her qualifications include: LLB (Hons) Business Law, PGCE, MA in Education Management, NPQH, NPQEL and she is now completing a Professional Doctorate in Education. As a headteacher, a key question for Elizabeth is the extent to which her staff can mediate government policy, over time, while retaining their own professional orientation in meeting the needs of all children, particularly the most vulnerable learners. Her personal values, underpinned by Catholic Social Teaching, is the moral imperative that drives her ambition as a school leader. Elizabeth is married with two daughters. She enjoys holidaying in their VW Campervan. She spent 12 years in the Army Reserves and now volunteers as the Chair of Trustees of a local charity and is the unit administration officer at a local youth organisation.
