Hongyan (Shannon) Zhang, Ms

PhD researcher at University of Reading

Hongyan (Shannon) Zhang is a PhD researcher at the University of Reading, an academic tutor for bachelor’s and master’s (MA) students, a lecturer involved in MA curriculum development and seminar delivery, and a journal reviewer in childhood studies. She is also a Chinese immigrant mother of two boys. Her research interests include early childhood education, wellbeing studies, cultural differences in education and inclusive education. Previously, she worked in an early years educational setting in England and is now an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) in the UK. Before moving to the UK, she spent more than 10 years in China as a college teacher, a founder and head of a language training centre. Her motto is: ‘Where there is a will, there is a way.’
