Dr Janet Orchard is an associate professor of philosophy and religion in teacher education at the University of Bristol. She is interested in ethical deliberation in teacher education, particularly issues of religious and cultural difference, intergroup relations and dialogue. As a former secondary school teacher in schools in challenging circumstances for more than 15 years, her philosophical work is applied and concerned with the art of living rather than abstract theorising.
