Katherine Collier, Mrs

PhD Student at Durham University

Katherine Collier is a PhD student in the School of Education at Durham University. Her current research explores the literacy development of children, with a focus on its association with a range of social, economic and personal factors. Katherine is committed to advancing inclusive educational practices. She built on this interest through her chosen research projects while working as a Research Assistant within Durham University鈥檚 School of Education. This included supporting the creation of an open educational reading programme, aimed at primary school students who find reading particularly challenging. Katherine has also researched the academic achievements of children with mild bilateral and unilateral hearing loss in comparison with their peers with typical hearing. Katherine鈥檚 work continues to shape her understanding of inclusive education and motivates her to produce robust, evidence-based research that advances equity for all learners.
