Kumar Jayantilal is a lecturer in education at University College Birmingham. He worked as a qualified primary school teacher for almost 10 years, with expertise in coaching and mentoring, behaviour management, curriculum design, and physical education (PE). His research interests include (primary) PE, occupational socialisation and performative school cultures. Currently, he is pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD), where his thesis investigates the influence of neoliberal performativity on primary teachers’ work in PE.
