Dr Lei Zeng is a Lecturer in Fashion Technology at the University of Manchester, specialising in sustainable fashion and functional textiles. She integrates research-led innovation into her teaching, leading undergraduate and postgraduate units and supervising student research. Passionate about embedding doctoral research into higher education, she was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2019 and became a Fellow of The Textile Institute (CText FTI) in 2024. She actively contributes to the sector as a council member of The Textile Institute. Committed to inclusive and engaging learning, she designs and delivers teaching that supports diverse student needs and fosters a strong academic community. Her work places particular emphasis on student support, engagement, and belonging, creating an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. She regularly presents at conferences on education and learning, championing innovation and inclusivity in higher education.
