Michelle Thomason, Dr

Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University

Dr Michelle Thomason is a Senior Lecturer in Education at London South Bank University and Course Leader for the Level 7 Academic Professional Apprenticeship and the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She teaches across PGCE Further Education and BA Education Studies programmes. Previously, she led the PGCE Further Education at the University of East London, where the course was judged Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in April 2024. Michelle has over twenty-one years’ experience in post-16 education, largely in inner London, with a sustained commitment to Further Education teacher education. She completed her doctorate in education in 2024, examining the impact of the 2014 A Level Media Studies curriculum reforms on subject identity, policy enactment, and teacher experience. Her research draws on qualitative methodologies, including digital ethnography, and sits within media education and teacher education.
