Dr Nikki Jones recently completed her doctoral research at Cardiff University, where she investigated the impact and enactment of the Welsh Foundation Phase with a particular focus on learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Her mixed-methods study explored the relationship between progressive pedagogy and educational equity, highlighting how pupil and teacher ability to engage with the curriculum is shaped by context. Nikki’s research interests include early years education, curriculum reform, and tackling inequalities in educational experience and outcomes. She is committed to bridging the gap between research and practice to support more inclusive learning environments.
