Qian is a research fellow at the National Institute of Teaching. Her research interests include professional development of practitioners in education, technology-enhanced pedagogy, and young people's equitable participation into STEM. She obtained her PhD degree in education from the University of Cambridge and was then awarded as an Early Career Impact Fellow at IOE, UCL. She has contributed to several large international research projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, British Academy and Research England.
