Rebekah Gear, Mrs

Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University

Rebekah Gear is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education whose work focuses on bridging the gap between research and classroom practice. Starting out as a primary teacher in Sutton-in-Ashfield, she became passionate about practitioner-led inquiry while leading mathematics and exploring small-scale research projects. Rebekah believes that close-to-practice research empowers teachers to develop context-specific solutions and critically engage with evidence. She serves on the executive committee for the Association for the Study of Primary Education (ASPE), where she launched Research into Research: Conversations from Primary Classrooms, a journal designed to help teachers move from consumers to contributors of research. Currently, she supports trainee and early career teachers to publish their own inquiries, aiming to foster a culture
of evidence-informed, reflective practice that benefits
both educators and learners.
