Xinran Cheng, Ms

Student at Oxford Brookes University

Xinran Cheng is currently studying for a BA (Hons) in International Tourism and Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University. Her research focuses on the interconnections between digital technology, young people’s mental health and social identity. In particular, she is interested in the impact of social media use on mental health and how education and digital environments affect young people’s identity formation, self-esteem and psychological resilience. Her most recent quantitative research project explores the ‘threshold effect’ of length of social media use on mental health outcomes in university students, and Xinran is keen to continue her scholarly explorations in the fields of education and social science research, with the aim of informing evidence-based interventions that support healthier digital habits and better mental health.
