Zenna Atkins is an accomplished board leader and social entrepreneur with more than 30 years’ experience across education, government and the commercial sectors. As chair of Ofsted, she led England’s national inspectorate for schools, children’s services and learning, overseeing 3,000 staff and 47,000 annual inspections. Appointed by the Secretary of State for Education, she introduced new governance structures and strengthened the focus on leadership and classroom learning.
Zenna has worked extensively across the global education landscape, advising governments in Ghana, Azerbaijan, Panama and Lebanon on education reform, innovation and system design. She has also supported international school groups and education businesses, helping them expand responsibly and improve impact. A former Regional Director of the Aldridge Foundation, she has led the creation and improvement of innovative schools across the UK and beyond.
Currently CEO of Dallaglio RugbyWorks, Zenna continues to champion education and social mobility through sport, mentoring and strategic partnerships that enable excluded young people to achieve their potential.
