Making the Right Call Together: Poster Impact – Where Research Meets Design

Conference Poster Design for Early Career Researchers: Communicate Your Research with Impact

Introduction
Are you preparing for your first academic conference or looking to improve how you present your research? This online event is designed to support early career researchers in creating engaging, effective conference posters (printed and digital) that capture attention and communicate key findings clearly.

Context
Conference posters are a key platform for sharing your work, building networks, and sparking collaboration. A well-designed poster doesn’t just look good, it tells a clear research story and invites discussion. As more conferences shift to include ePosters and hybrid formats, researchers must adapt their design and presentation skills for both physical and digital audiences. This workshop covers both formats to ensure your poster is ready for any setting.

Aims of the Event

This interactive session aims to:

  • Equip early career researchers with the skills to design visually appealing and accessible posters
  • Share strategies to communicate complex ideas clearly to a broad audience
  • Offer tips for confidently presenting your poster and engaging in meaningful conversations at conferences
  • Explore best practices for ePoster design, navigation, and interactivity
  • Provide practical tools for layout, graphics, and content selection
  • Create a supportive space to ask questions and learn from peers and experienced researchers

Whether you’re designing your first poster or looking to refine your approach, this session will help you create and present a poster that showcases your research with clarity and confidence.
