Alison Porter is Associate Professor in Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on primary school language learning. Her interests include effective young language learner pedagogies, the development of FL literacy and the non-linguistic benefits of languages education. She is also interested in teacher learning and wellbeing, including how this impacts on learner outcomes. She is project lead of DELTEA and co-chair of the Research in Primary Languages Network.
