Honorary Senior Research Fellow/Postdoctoral Fellow at University College London/McGill University

Dr Emily MacLeod is a Postdoctoral Scholar at McGill University, Canada, and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Education (IOE), UCL’s Faculty of Education & Society. Within the context of national and international teacher shortages, Emily’s doctoral work studied whether and why young people do, or do not, become teachers as a first career. Her postdoctoral project at McGill develops this work with a focus on science teacher recruitment in Canada.
Before beginning her PhD, Emily was a secondary school teacher in the north of England, and worked on the ASPIRES research project at King’s College London and at IOE.
