James Wright

Associate professor at Kingston University

James Wright is associate professor and professional lead for Secondary Teacher Education at Kingston University London, where he leads the Secondary PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status. His course foregrounds inclusion, wellbeing and social justice, preparing future teachers to thrive in diverse and evolving school contexts. James brings extensive experience as a teacher-educator, having worked across multiple training routes and held senior roles as a lecturer, local authority adviser and independent consultant. He has taught a wide range of subjects including Citizenship, RE, English, Media, Philosophy and Politics. Nationally, James contributes to curriculum and policy development as a consultant for the Association for Citizenship Teaching (ACT), a member of the ACT Council, and former member of the DfE鈥檚 Expert Subject Advisory Group. His academic interests focus on Citizenship education, and the application psychosocial approaches to teacher education.
