Matteo Sciberras is a senior lecturer in Education at Kingston University, working across the Primary PGCE and BA (Hons) Primary Education routes leading to Qualified Teacher Status. An experienced primary school teacher, mentor and teacher trainer, Matteo previously led mathematics across a federation of schools in south London and oversaw the mentoring of trainee teachers. He spent five years with the UK’s largest school-based teacher training provider, where he led a primary mathematics specialism and collaborated with Kingston University to deliver PGCE modules to over 200 trainees annually. Matteo also serves as the primary mathematics subject consultant for the National Association for School-Based Teacher Trainers (NASBTT), supporting trainees and ITT providers nationally. He holds a master’s degree in Educational Assessment from UCL’s Institute of Education, and his academic interests focus on promoting fairness in assessment systems across schools and initial teacher education.
