Karen Walshe, Dr

Associate Professor at University of Exeter

Karen Walshe is currently deputy head of the School of Education at the University of Exeter. Having taught religious education in secondary schools for 10 years, Karen joined the University of Exeter to focus on initial and continuing teacher education. Her work with pre-service teachers in particular, sparked a keen interest in exploring what might be meant by ‘understanding’ and in the power of metaphors to change how we view education and its associated activities. Karen is also currently coordinator for Student Experience, Inclusivity and Wellbeing for the faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Exeter.
