Khadija Mohammed, Professor
Professor in Teacher Education and Associate Vice-Principal (Inclusivity) at University of the West of Scotland
Professor Khadija Mohammed is Professor in Teacher Education and Associate Vice-Principal (Inclusivity), and a nationally recognised leader in anti-racism in education. Her research, policy and leadership have been instrumental in advancing equality across Scottish education, with a particular focus on dismantling systemic barriers affecting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) educators and students.
Professor Mohammed has played a leading role in shaping Scotland's anti-racist education agenda, including chairing the Scottish Government's Curriculum Reform Subgroup within the Anti-Racism in Education Programme and contributing to the development of Breaking the Mould: Principles for an Anti-Racist Curriculum. She also led the development of the National Anti-Racism Framework for Initial Teacher Education in Scotland and co-founded the Scottish Association of Minority Ethnic Educators (SAMEE), where she continues to champion leadership, mentoring and inclusion across the education sector.
