Professor Emeritus at University of Cumbria
Pete Boyd taught for twelve years in high schools in Birkenhead and Bradford and three years in a field study and outdoor education centre in South Wales. He moved into higher education as a teacher educator, completed a part-time doctorate, and subsequently worked in academic development and research capacity-building roles. He became a professor of professional learning at University of Cumbria and a visiting professor at University of Hertfordshire. His research activity includes practitioner research on becoming a professional educator, research into assessment in higher education, and collaborative practitioner research with teachers.
