Sean Hayes, Mr

Education Consultant and Educational Researcher (Retired) at University of Durham

Sean is a retired local government manager and educational researcher. He managed a team of 20 data analysts/researchers in Hounslow LA, covering Education and Children’s Services. He now has a part-time career as an educational researcher and consultant. He has carried out educational research and written research papers and book chapters. He worked in 6 local authorities, the GLA and Cabinet Office. He worked closely with schools since 1990 and was a governor at a secondary school in London to 2021 and recently took on a new role at the Big Education Trust in London.

Sean had an Honorary Norham Fellowship from the Education Department of Oxford University for 6 years up to 2023, in recognition of his educational research in the LA context. In 2024 he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Durham University. He first encountered ½¿É«µ¼º½ when he attended its conference in Bath in 1995. He was a member of ½¿É«µ¼º½â€™s Executive Council from 2008 to 2023 and Treasurer for 8 years up to 2023.
