Abdelilah Salim Sehlaoui, Dr

Professor of TESOL Teacher Education and Applied Linguistics at Sam Houston State University

Dr Abdelilah Salim Sehlaoui is professor of TESOL Teacher Education and Applied Linguistics at Sam Houston State University, USA. He has more than 40 years of experience in teaching and administration in various national and international contexts. He provides professional consulting to schools and universities nationally and internationally. He has published books, book chapters, and articles in prestigious peer-refereed international journals. His main research interest centres on the development of critical cross-cultural communicative competence in educators and academic leaders, critical pedagogy in teacher education, social justice and equity, sociolinguistics, heritage language, multilingual literacy and teaching STEM and ESL via Computer-assisted language learning. He also authored and co-authored many federal grant projects that were awarded with a total of $6.5 million in TESOL and Bilingual Teacher Education from the US Department of Education. Dr Sehlaoui received the 2011 Emporia State University (ESU) President鈥檚 Research and Creativity Award and the ESU President鈥檚 Leadership in Diversity Award.
