Tracy Ann Hayes, Associate Professor

Dr Tracy Ann Hayes is an associate professor of education at Plymouth Marjon University. An educator, researcher and writer, she is first-generation in her family to access higher education. With a background in youth and community work, science communication and outdoor learning, she is committed to fostering curiosity and critical thinking across disciplines. Tracy’s academic research focuses on the role of storytelling, play, creativity and imagination in learning, particularly in relation to environmental awareness, youth engagement and social change. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and books, contributed to interdisciplinary projects, and regularly presents at national and international conferences. Tracy also serves as an active member of the British Educational Research Association (½¿É«µ¼º½), where she contributes to advancing educational research and supporting scholarly communities. Beyond academia, she collaborates with artists, communities and educators to create spaces for dialogue and reflection, inspiring inclusive and transformative approaches to education.
